EGR Valve Deactivation

EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) is an auxiliary engine system that returns exhaust gases back to the engine’s intake manifold for afterburning.

Exhaust from an engine with EGR becomes less toxic, but this solution reduces the amount of oxygen entering the engine and, accordingly, the engine’s power.

The solution to this problem is software deactivation of the EGR valve. Simply closing the EGR valve to block gas recirculation is not enough — it also requires software tuning of the engine control unit (ECU) to ensure the correct fuel-air mixture composition without the EGR system.

ISTOCHNIK MOSHNOSTI recommends EGR valve deactivation not only in case of system failure but also to improve engine power characteristics, including achieving better low-RPM dynamics.
