REDUCING OVERHEATING RISKS AND EXTENDING ENGINE LIFE ON THE TANK 300 (and other 2-liter engines*), TANK 400, TANK 500

How the electronic thermostat works in TANK 300, TANK 400, and TANK 500 engines
Modern TANK 300, TANK 400, and TANK 500 engines use an intelligent temperature management system via an electronic thermostat. This device regulates the coolant temperature depending on driving conditions and engine load.

Main thermostat operating modes
Low load: when the vehicle is moving slowly or idling in traffic, the thermostat limits coolant flow through the radiator to help the engine warm up faster and avoid overcooling.
Medium load: during moderate driving in the city or on highways, the thermostat begins to open gradually, allowing coolant to pass through the radiator and maintain optimal engine temperature.
High load: under hard acceleration or high-speed driving, the thermostat fully opens to cool the engine as efficiently as possible and prevent overheating.
Maximum load: in extreme conditions — such as towing or off-road driving — the thermostat works at full capacity, ensuring maximum heat exchange.

Depending on your region and climate, the thermostat adjusts the coolant temperature to keep the engine running optimally.

IMCHIP’s solution
During urban use, vehicles often operate under low and medium loads, which can lead to engine overheating.

To extend engine life on the Tank 300, Tank 400, and Tank 500, we’ve developed a custom thermostat control algorithm. It reduces engine temperature when operating under these conditions.

This helps to:
· Reduce motor oil wear and extend its lifespan;
· Lower the risk of engine knock;
· Protect rubber and plastic components from premature aging;
· Improve overall engine reliability and longevity.

This adjustment can be installed separately by clicking the "Submit Request" button, or together with chip tuning, depending on your goals and preferences.
