Toyota unveiled the new bZ7 electric sedan at the Shanghai Auto Show, which is larger in size than the popular Camry model.
This large electric vehicle will become part of the bZ family, which includes the bZ4X, bZ3, bZ3X, and bZ5 models, and is positioned as a modern and more technologically advanced alternative to the classic sedan. The production version is scheduled to be released within the next year.
The development of the model was carried out jointly by Toyota's China Research & Development Center and the Chinese partner Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (GAC). Exact technical specifications have not yet been disclosed, but it is known that the car’s length exceeds five meters. The equipment includes advanced driver assistance systems, including Level 2+ autopilot, confirmed by the presence of a lidar on the roof.
The bZ7 interior features modern equipment: a large multimedia touchscreen, digital instrument panel, ambient lighting, a head-up display, and dual wireless charging for smartphones. The interior uses perforated leather and wooden inserts, emphasizing the premium character of the model.
Along with the bZ7, Toyota presented the prototype of the next-generation Lexus ES sedan, which retains the TNGA GA-K platform but has become longer and received an extended wheelbase. The Lexus ES is equipped with hybrid and fully electric powertrains ranging from 224 to 342 hp, which will likely also be used in the bZ7. The new model also features a multimedia system with two large screens.
