The SUV is now equipped with a powerful hybrid system, similar to the one used in the Toyota Tundra.
Increased power and reduced fuel consumption
The vehicle was revealed ahead of its official premiere. Photos of the SUV appeared on social media, showing that it received a self-charging HEV system. It is powered by a 3.4-liter V6 gasoline engine, an electric motor, and a 10-speed automatic transmission — the same powertrain used in the Toyota Sequoia and Tundra. Although the exact power output has not yet been announced, by analogy with other models, it is expected to exceed 440 hp with 790 Nm of torque.
According to preliminary data, the hybrid Land Cruiser 300 will debut in the Persian Gulf markets, where shipments from the Japanese plant have already begun. Exterior differences from the standard Land Cruiser 300 are minimal. The hybrid version is expected to be about 10% more fuel-efficient than the gasoline variant.
The global premiere will take place in the coming weeks. Gasoline and diesel engine options will still remain available for the SUV.
